"There is presently no organised low level route around the highest mountain in the UK south of the Scottish Highlands. Surely this is some mistake?" writes Pete Bursnall. Pete is a local self employed consultant with interests in activity tourism and management development.
Pete has written his own guide to the circular walk around Snowdon - the Cylchdaith yr Wyddfa. The Society is concerned at the lack of low-level routes for families and shorter days - and the indifferent quality of marketing behind them.
Pete says "The book has everything you need for the pleasure of two or three days stunning walking around the mountain. Hopefully the sound of footfalls in the valleys will ‘encourage’ the powers that be to stop talking about the possibility and start making it a reality."
"The route is entirely legal, utilising footpaths, bridleways, forest tracks, access land and open countryside to get you around. There are numerous accommodation options from camping to hotels and all points in between, a good list of providers is available on www.snowdonia-active.com"
A copy of the guide is available for non-commercial purposes only from here and Pete's website is here
